The stock factory mirrors on my S40 were useless as the handlebars are so narrow. I found some nice bar end mirrors, they are nicely positioned and just the right size. Huge improvement over stock. I also installed Denali M5 LED headlight, so much brighter than the stock halogen, love it!

Completely plug and play, but if you're going to upgrade, might want to go for JW Speaker adaptive headlight, it has additional LEDs and a lean sensor to eluminate into curves.

Yeah, its not a cheap light, you can probably buy just as good of a light on ebay/amazon for under $100, just look for 5-3/4 LED lights.

I originally had this Denali light on my V Star 950, but I am getting a JW Speaker adaptive light for it, so I put this one on the trusty little S40. A modern LED light really transforms the look of the bike IMO.
