I am wondering if this knobby tire will fit the savage rear wheel.
They have a 2.50-15 34L

That 2.50=15 tire will go onto the rim and has enough rubber to put the 30 HP to the ground.  I ran a 110/80 rear tire for a while and although it looks skinny - it handled just fine and didn't wear any faster than a wider tire.  (The skinny tire does make the pulley/belt stand out as they tire is not much wider than the belt).

Motorcycles in the 60's that were 650cc only ran a 3.00 tire in the back even when they were on the race track - the wide tires we are used to seeing today aren't really necessary for traction......it is more of a fashion statement associated with the cruiser styling.  (The big wide tires with soft rubber on sport bikes is necessary to handle the big HP and not wear out in 1,000 miles.....they need a lot of rubber).

Good to know, It's really just a show bike, don't put more than 500 miles a yr on it. Just around my little village in RI. Thanks for your answer.
