Shinko 777

The reviews say they are a little soft for a touring bike but great for a cruiser.

I have a Shinko 712 on the rear of my Guzzi now.   The Savage has a 712 on one end and a Kenda Challenger on the other , I forget which way ?  But both look like the same tread.

Neet watching them made !  Smiley

Okay, that is cool and all, but for me, I like watching them get scrubbed to DETH better.

That was pretty neat. Thanks.

I've got Shinko 712's on the S40.

I sent an email to Shinko USA asking which would be best for my Honda Shadow Spirit 1100, the 734 which is currently on the bike and has 9K miles on it, the 777, or the 230 tour master. They recommended the 230 which I will purchase soon. I have to admit that I have been pleased with the 734 getting 9K miles. Hopefully the 230 will give me 12K miles.

It won't if you choose to ride with MM and I! Wink

If you want to get that kind of mileage out of a Shinko (or most other sport touring tires) - you need to ride on smooth concrete or asphalt and avoid Tar and Chip roads with sharp crushed stone aggregate, avoid riding in really hot temperatures, accelerate and brake slowly, and corner like you have a bowl of Goldfish on the seat.

Huh

Dave , are you saying Goldfish don't like a HIGH-SPRITED ride ?    Grin

The Shinko 250 on the front of my Savage is wearing really slow.
It's a dual radius tire .

It is sometimes scary what kind of crap I retain in my memory.  The goldfish comment is a throwback to a very old commercial.  The goldfish reference is about 25 seconds in.
