Engine
11/09/21 at 15:13:43

In a 'senior moment', I added Stabil to my fuel twice.  I didn't notice any difference in how the engine ran til today: now it doesn't idle, dies, but if I give it a hefty twist of the throttle it will accelerate fine, but at cruising throttle it runs rough.  Suppose it's because of too much Stabilizer in the fuel?

Probably, it does the same thing if you add too much seafoam.

Thanks.  I'll try and burn some fuel off and then add more fresh.  Trouble is not sure when the temp will reach 50+ again.  Probably not for months!  Wa-wa.

Remove the fuel line and run some of the fuel into a fuel can......set the petcock to PRI to get the fuel flowing.

You can dump the drained fuel into your car to dilute the Stabil.

Then take that can to the gas station and get some new gas.  See if you can get some "ethanol free" fuel where you live.

Yes, that's available around here: 91 octane ethanol free.
