Headlight, horn not working
10/07/21 at 20:05:32

I was recently gifted a 1996 LS650P. I believe everything on it is stock. Bike runs well: starts right up; idles well :goes through the gears fine. For some reason the headlight and the horn stopped working. Obviously, I need them to pass inspection. Brought the headlight bulb to an auto parts dealer, and he said it looks okay. I checked both of the 20A fuses-okay. Question: Is there a commonly-found short (or a connection I missed) that would only affect the headlight and horn? All other electricals are still functioning properly.  This is my first post. Glad to be here.  JTW '96 Savage.

Headlight and turn signal connections with the harness are inside the headlight shell.
The hole in the shell is tight and with the turning of the front wheel flexes the wires.  And is a location that can cause broken wires.

The controls for the light and horn are in the left hand control.

So check the wires, check the controls.
