That chassis is unknown. The rear axle is definitely a Dodge, though. It's a 3/4 ton 4x4, and has a SBC engine in it. My guess is either a Dodge or GM. I found out the lugs on all four corners are left hand threads. The chassis was shortened by a farmer in Idaho, and badly. Straight vertical cuts in the frame rails, and a plate welded over it on each side. What a maroon!! I would never drive it.

Cab & bed has real nice patina. Stude is smooth and pleasant like a cloud.
You gonna paint it all up when done ?

You are assuming both sides look the same. The truck was parked next to the north wall of the shop when the fire happened. The driver's side is completely charred, molten shingle tar melted and dropped on it, paint blistered, body filler popped. I was going to satin clear coat it, but now, it is totally ruined. I am going to leave it as is. It will be more of a rat rod look now.

I am going to have a capital "D" laser cut, and rivet it crooked over the last letter on the tail gate. The project is now called Studebaked.

Real patina can’t be faked , usually a good story or two comes with the patina , you got both. I got good patina and story on mine too. I’ve seen a 2 part stuff to dull coat the patina in , put it on with a sponge. Mine moved under its own power last week for the first time in twenty years.

Not sure what side I like better , the rare or the well done side. Both sides have their own stories , ya can’t make that stuff up ! Way Cool !

So I went to Office Depot in town with some of my pictures copied to a USB drive. I had posters made from the pictures so I could hang them on my shop wall. Four of them were shots of my baja that was lost in the fire. And in that vein, this one was mandatory! It is hung in almost the exact spot the original was taken in. It came out like looking into a window of the past - like looking into my old shop. It really tugs on the heartstrings, you know?!
