Nope!

Every twenty minute job is a stripped thread away from being a three day ordeal.

I miss the tracker build but shop builds are cool too.

I am seriously keeping my eye out for another Savage. I have inklings of starting that project over again. It won't be the first in line, maybe not the second, but it would do my heart good to see that one through.

Before I can start any more projects, I have to finish the shop, first. And today we got another step closer. The floor coating is in! I am more than pleased with how it came out. Was it cheap? Not by a long shot! But at this stage in life, you can't take it with you. The color choice is a nod to my baja that was destroyed in the fire. I will never forget that car.

Very nice
.
Your Baja Bug was top notch. I grew up in San Diego from the early 70's through '95, and there were many, many tricked out bugs. Yours was something special. Nothing to Sneeze at

I got the backer board for the wood stove installed today. Then my back told me I had to quit working. Tomorrow I will try to get the stove and chimney put in if my back cooperates.

Mother Nature gave her final inspection approval today! I still have to get the county out to do the same thing, though.

That sure is a beautiful shop. Love the rainbow effect. Every cloud has a silver lining. Hope you do another LS Tracker. That was a sweet bike.
Did they ever figure out what went wrong with the battery? As I recall, it was a rechargeable battery that started the fire.
On another topic, I just logged a little over 50K on one of your clutch release cams. Most of those miles were with Barnett heavy springs. That cam is tough. It can take it. Thanks again for coming up with a great solution to a major weak spot. Kudos.

Thanks, DBM. They found two bad cells in the battery. But it is the chicken and the egg scenario. Did the cells go bad and start the fire, or did the fire cause the cells to fail? At this point, AAA has entered into subrogation with Ryobi. They ceased the investigation into the battery/charger until Ryobi can participate. I have retained an attorney. I am still compiling my personal property inventory, so that part of the claim has not been submitted. I am after compensation for all the motor vehicle stuff that AAA won't cover. This will probably take years. At this point, I am just glad to (almost) have my shop back, and no other structures or people were harmed by the fire.
I am keeping a side eye on the lookout for a decent Savage. But my first focus will be my truck project.

With the help of a good neighbor, we were able to get the wood burning stove in place and hook up the interior chimney. Shop 2.0 only needs the interior trim on the human door and it's ready for the final inspection by the county. It's been the longest ten months of my life. Honestly.

The final inspection from the county has been scheduled for tomorrow. I am hoping to get the occupancy permit once it is completed. The door trim will be done sometime next week. Once final inspection is complete, I will start moving in, as my back allows. I done it good this time. The move in will happen slow. It sucks getting old!
