Steering Lock
09/21/21 at 12:30:26

I haven't had my '03 very long.  Just tried using the steering lock for the first time today.  My ignition key does not fit the lock.  I have to ignition keys for the bike.  Should there be a third for the steering lock?  Another thing I noticed, both of my keys fit the helmet lock but neither will unlock it. Sad  Anyone have any insight on either of these issues?  Thank you!

The ignition key should operate the ignition, helmet lock, gas cap and the tool box cover. The fork lock is a separate key.

There's a different, funny looking key for the steering lock.

I'm thinking my ignition key works the helmet lock but I've never used it. Perhaps the original was lost then another added.

Ok.  That’s kinda what I was thinking about the helmet lock.  Both my keys work the ignition and gas cap but nothing else. Tool box cover was missing when I got it.  Guess I’m SOL on the steering lock.  Thanks for the input!  I appreciate it.

Try some lube in the helmet lock , they don’t get used maybe it’s just froze up. My steering lock took some work to get it freed up and lubed.

The helmet lock is an invitation for someone to dump something in your helmet.
A gun lock with the six inch flexible loop works great as long as you have a full face helmet. The handlebar cross brace and it's sitting on the tank..
