Handlebar Control Wiring
09/10/21 at 19:11:15

Got new 1" HANDLEBAR  and naturally needed 1" controls.  I need the wiring diagram for the original.  So I can connect what needs to connect without blowing anything up. Also for the horn, all signals.

If anybody is going to help you out... they'll need to know what year and what side.

JBK:
The controller you have pictured has separate turn signal controls, LEFT TURN on LEFT and RIGHT TURN on RIGHT? (Harley style) not BOTH DIRECTIONS on Left side like stock?

Hope this helps, (Total amateur here), but I think the left control should have 10 wires?  (2 clutch safety, 3 turn signals, 3 hi/low, 2 horn).  I would guess you would need to get the 3 wires for the turn signals and get the a common ground and right directional wire (light green) over to the right side controller.

I rewired my controls to allow me to use smaller 7/8" ones and lose the cruiser look.  It was a significant job - I cut the wires and used the OEM wire connectors by just splicing the old and new wires together.

I use a KLR650 right control and a GSXR1000 left control......by sticking with the Suzuki left control I has some hope the wiring would be similar and thankfully it was.

I am not sure your new control has a "push to pass" switch that flashes the headlight - your old circuit will have two yellow wires and one is for the normal high beam and one is for the pass button.....you may not need them both.  You will also have to reroute your right turn signal wire over to the other side.

The wiring harness is in the back of the Clymers Manual or in the Technical Section on this forum.  I laid out the wires and used small pieces of tape to label each end, then began splicing them together being sure the length was proper for the handlebars I was using.

Good Luck - this is a challenging job. Wink
