I am pretty sure that the 1400 tree won't work on a Savage frame. If I remember right, the stem is a bigger diameter on the 1400 and is longer. The fork tubes are a lot bigger diameter and the spacing between them is wider. Even if the stem would fit you would still need the entire front end, wheel and all. Keep looking for a 750 or 800 Intruder, that does swap onto the Savage frame.
