Hi Guys, I have just discovered that the rear belt drive sprocket has both a bit of backlash, and a bit of side to side movement.
Does this sound like a part is worn or does it sound like something just needs adjusting?
40k kms. Belt looks good.

Take a look at Drag Bike Mike's article on the double wide bearing conversion. It makes it better than new.

The backlash is from the rubber dampers and I don't think it's detrimental.
and yes go for DBM's double bearing conversion.

The rotational free play is OK and allows some cushion for the belt.
The axial wobble is a worn pulley hub bearing......it is a major cause of belt squeak.

OK, thx.
@Dave, I cannot locate the DBM thread yet, been at it all morning, so I haven't had a chance to see what the double bearing conversion entails yet, so in the meantime, if I decide to just get the bearing replaced, how urgent is that, like apart from a bit of squeak, would any other parts become damaged if this was left for a few weeks?
