Turn Signals Turn on Hazards
07/08/21 at 12:34:23
Hello,
First post on here but ive spent the past week going through the forums and I can’t find anyone with a similar issue. I picked up a 2011 Suzuki Boulevard s40 about two weeks ago. It has been running great. I installed a new Tachometer and a KN AirFilter (SU-6595) however I have been trying to troubleshoot this issue with the turn signals…
Whenever i go to use either the left or the right turn signals the Hazards come on, as in all four turn signals and the turn signal indicator lights all flash in the same speed as when I use the actual Hazard lights button.
I have switched out the relay at the front of tank with no luck. I have also tested the continuity in the left hand cluster according to the Clymer Manual and the switches all work as expected. When I disconnect the relay completely the front turn signal lights stay on but the rear stay off.
At this point I am not sure what components to check or where to go next. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have a simple ohmmeter if anyone has something they think I should check

I suspect you have a short.
The hole in the headlight where all the wiring runs thru is where I'd look 1st.

How would I go about testing this with the Ohmmeter? I’ve seen the wiring diagram but im not sure how it all works

You would need a microOhm meter to be able to read the length of the wire between short and the connector otherwise it'll be either infinite and 0.
Remove the wire from the bucket and look for burn spots.

Are your blinkers oem or aftermarket?
How long have you had the light problem?
