The work of understanding what motivates violence, bigotry, hate, and prejudice is no trivial task; as illustrated in this well fleshed out monograph on the path taken by one man- from Colorado to dragging a policeman down the steps of the Capitol - a confluence of conditions, illness, and malign influence contributed to where he ended up.

Arguing over “reasons” that clutter the surface distract from addressing the vastness of cause lurking below.
The Tall Table is a hamster wheel- climb on, go for a run to nowhere, and be rewarded with poisonous rage pellets, dopamine hits that let the fading feel part of the struggle of life, a self deluded belief of being center stage even as sliding farther and farther from healthy social integration. Creatures of contradiction, rejecting society even while compelled to seek commiseration with a community of strangers. No support group for recovery and redemption, but festering wound where habitual participants come to have their scabs picked open, reinfected.
Better not to respond -just leave, and don’t come back. Maybe try to have a real conversation, face to face with another person, or plant something in the soil that will bring life and joy to everyone, friend and perceived enemy alike, long after you have left the stage. A peach tree might be a good start- most everybody likes a good peach. Or cherries. Build a pond, stock it with fish, and, take comfort in the respite your toil will bring- even if the shade comes long after you are gone.
