Dumb Dust Catastrophe

I work on my bike in a humble 2-motorcycle garage, which also serves all of my fabrication needs- including wood.  With the header off the bike and exhaust port stuffed with rag, I ripped lumber on the table saw, then blew the shop clear of dust.   While completing that task, which included displacing a frosting of wood dust from the bike, I discovered the dog had not satisfied himself with my lack of attention while wood working, saw fit to seize on the dangling rag in the header, carrying it off for some vengeful chewing.

Am I now doomed to perform a complete tear down and cleaning of the engine, or is there some other recourse?   I fantasize of alternatives- disabuse me, please.

Was the engine in a place of rotation where the exhaust valves were closed?

I don't believe wood dust is abrasive - you are likely not going to have any problems with wood dust.  Anything that could have floated into the stagnant air of the exhaust port is likely too fine to cause any trouble.

Stick a vacuum hose to the exhaust port
