Help! Oil is dripping from air box drain hose.
03/21/21 at 12:13:03

Hi. Everyone.  Couple weeks ago, I opened air box drain hoses plug then dirty oil was dripping from there so I drained completely.
Today after oil change,  I run engine for 20 ~30 mins and opened plug again found clean oil is dripping again but less than last time. What could cause this problem? Thank you in advance.

Is your oil level too full?

Has anyone taken the head cover off your bike - and neglected to put the little wire mesh thingy back in the recess in the head cover?

And when you said you ran the engine 20-30 minutes.....I hope you were on a ride and not just letting the engine idle for that length of time while leaned over on the side stand.

If your oil vapor hose is down hill from the head, that can do it.
If someone had the head cover off and failed to put the wad of mesh back in the head, that Will do it.

I'd first be certain of the oil level
The routing of the vapor tube
What oil are you using?
What kinda RPM you running it at?

How long have you had it?
Not minutes
Miles..

Sorry I have been so busy.  I use Rotella oil as people recommend here and last time oil level was little bit high but in the end when I drained oil only 1 L came out. This time I put perfect level. I have raptor petcock too.

The routing of the vapor hose is about all you have left without using wrenches.
As it goes away from the head cover, it needs to be going uphill a few degrees for the first foot or so. That lets the oil vapor fall out of the air and drip back into the engine.
You could disconnect it and see what is coming out.

You could swap the oil and put synthetic in. If you run the dino it will start off fine, but as mileage adds up the oil goes away quicker.
Do you know much about the history who took it apart, why, etc?
I may have overlooked the mileage and year.
How many miles do You have on it?
Trouble from day one?

There are some people around who I hope chime in..

If your air filter or airbox are restricted it will cause the oil to be pulled out of your engine.

Check your air filter.  Make sure it is clean.  If it is not a genuine Suzuki filter it might be too restrictive.

Verify that the filter element is not fouled with oil.  If it's fouled with oil it will be waaaaay too restrictive.  Unless it's a K&N (or other type of gauze element) it should be bone dry.  If it's a standard paper element it must be free of oil.

Check your snorkel.  Make sure nothing is obstructing the snorkel.  Make sure the seat supports haven't collapsed allowing the bottom of the seat to obstruct the snorkel.  Make sure there isn't a rag or paper towel stowed under the seat.
