Why do you ask? Are you looking to remove carbon build-up on the piston?

Already cleaned the head and piston surface of carbon. The piston surface showed up with one spot of bright Aluminum...I'm Like "oh nuts ..I've gone too far"... but if there's no coating I will keep going .

Just get off the thick carbon - you don't need to make it bright and shiny.

Get it clean enough that you can install the rings and put back on the bike without any crud.  The top will get all black and yucky looking again as you ride.
