That's a drain plug.  It drains the filter housing.  There is a crush-washer under the head of the plug.

The factory tech manual identifies it as an "oil gallery plug" and the torque table lists a 10mm plug, but in actuality the plug in the picture is 12mm.  To be safe, I wouldn't exceed 13 foot-lbs.

Note that the all-inclusive Clymer manual has the same error regarding plug size.

I can’t take credit for the shiny case, it’s not my bike. We have a small group over here in the UK. Savages are few and far between. Still small but slowly growing.

Is this the bolt????  #8.  are we suposed to drain this too with oil change?
