I'm thankful for a lot of things this week.

One is those things is that I'm not Joe Biden.

He's got the worst job imaginable in front of him. There's a political element to that of course. The Republicans will do their level best to sabotage our government, consequences to the country be darned.

And of course, he's going to have to deal with a pandemic with a cratering economy, while trying to rebuild an executive branch which has been lobotomized and salted with traitors.

But that's only part of it.

He's a fellow with a moral core. A compass, if you will. He believes in right and wrong.  He seems to really buy into those calls to our better natures. You can see he's a little baffled when confronted by a conscious choice of evil. A thought bubble practically appears over his head in bold, "What's wrong with you, man?". Evil shocks him.(*1)

And he's about to be drowned in it. We can expect to see the true believers in Trump form a kind of rump faction in our midst. If you thought the Q nuts were scary, just wait. These folks will have a much larger echo chamber. 10s of millions of them. And Trump will be egging them on from wherever he's forced to hide. Encouraging treason at every turn.

Expect the police to be extra busy for the next few years chasing down people building bombs in their basements.

And Biden's job, which he really seems to believe in, means he has to try and do his level best for these loons. How? I'm struggling to imagine what that looks like. You see him trying to coax them back. He's using his grown up soothing voice. "C'mon, wear the mask. Let's do this together. We're all Americans."

In return he's being given threats and crazy fantasies about him masterminding a election fraud coup. And the people who believe he's a genius criminal mastermind also believe he's mentally addled. Somehow..??? It's insane.

We should hope his long life has prepared him for this work.

Me, I'd rather sell whelks from a wheelbarrow in a whorehouse.

*1- Yes, I know. After 40 odd years in government he's done some very questionable things. I'm not trying him for a darned halo. Piss off.

Of course the first reply to a well written thought about the future of America and a Biden presidency is nothing of substance from an undying Republican Trump loyalist.

I thought it a succinct summation of character- a transparent admission of personal failure, and validation of the lead post’s core message.   This is the sort of dead weight and active saboteur Biden will be contending with.  Be grateful Webster signaled a lack of capacity for good faith consideration so clearly, and waste no more time on him.

Well, let’s analyze your pillow talk....

The Republicans will do their level best to sabotage our government, consequences to the country be darned.

Democrats DID their level best to sabotage our government these past 4 years, consequences be darned. You pursued collusion charges for three years with a special prosecutor who found nothing to file charges on. Your media (Democrats and the media are one) labeled Trump a blatant racist from day one. The false story that Trump called Nazis fine people at Charlottesville stuck as truth. Biden said when he heard Trump say that, he decided to run. That’s a huge f’ing lie cause Trump never said that. In fact he said the opposite. So did Biden imagine he heard that? Did he even happen to be listening to that particular press conference? Or did his people say this is a great talking point; “say you decided to run when you heard this.”

Here’s a challenge for you. Watch Biden’s announcement when he decided to run. Then go watch that press conference about Charlottesville when this phrase came up and tell me if based on that, you really believe Biden was telling the truth.

Kinna like the, (well written thought),

about the actual FACTS,
where the POTUS of the last 4 years,
made everyone's lives,
(excepting the LAZY,
who have never,
and ever will,
Work)

Let’s see- upwards of 250,000 dead, over 140,000 new cases and over 1,500 new deaths per day- these are just a few of the things on Mendacious Spring’s list of “better”.

Mavigogun, I suspect they would gurgle the usual sliding scale of magical thinking cultists are comfortable with; Fake News, the numbers are lies, they died of something else, the Chinese did it, it wasn't Trumps fault.
And then  all those corpses just disappear from their minds.

Seriously, really seriously, what are you supposed to say to people screaming the moon landing was faked?

@wm,

You pursued collusion charges for three years with a special prosecutor who found nothing to file charges on.

That is you repeating Barr's narrative, which he groomed you to accept during the weeks he withheld the report. If you are interested in the muller report it's easy to search for the facts of what it contained. The only reason that charges were not laid is the Muller was obligated not to due to DoJ memos. But what he did do is set out in meticulous detail all the crimes that were committed.

You should also know that 'collusion' is not a crime and it's not what anyone was charged with. Muller did find conspiracy with Russia, in fact that is why Manafort is in prison amongst other things but it's also the reason why Trump abused his power to pardon Stone before he could be sentenced, because Stone lied to the FBI about working with Russian agents and communicated the information to Trump.

But you have no interested in this because you are pliant to the Republican bs, why? I can only guess that their racist and voter suppressing agenda suits you. So you will repeat Barrs mischaracterisation of the Muller report just as you will endlessly whinge about voter fraud that exists only on a scale that is meaningless to the election.

labeled Trump a blatant racist from day one

That's because he clearly IS a fcuking racist. How else do you explain him seeking the death penalty for the Central Park Five, taking out full page ads, even after they were completely cleared? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/feb/17/central-park-five-donald-trum... To give but one example.

The articles of impeachment were obstruction of justice of which muller listed in excruciating detail for future prosecution, and abuse of power, which is what happened when he withheld already approrpiated urgent aid from Ukraine in order to extort their pm.

While Muller did not and indeed could not indict anyone, he did prepare the evidence for indictment while it was all still fresh and this will return in the future. Although probably not soon because Biden will want to cool everyone down.

Everyone heard Trump not denounce the nazis at Charlottesville. And in fact he equated them, with normal protesters. That you are fine with Trump's behaviour at Charlottesville and want to excuse it, does sort of kinda make you look like a proud racist.

https://www.acslaw.org/projects/the-presidential-investigation-education-proj...

Myth: Mueller found “no collusion.”

Response: Mueller spent almost 200 pages describing “numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign.”
