Chain cinversion
10/27/20 at 14:56:21

Hello,
I’m sure there’s been lots of conversations about this, but I did a search and didn’t see any posts.

I’m not sure that I want to tackle this project but I’m curious about how it’s done.

Any links, info ?

Thank you.   Jay

It’s well documented in the technical section. Simply put, you remove the pulleys and replace them with sprockets. If you’re not looking to change the gearing, it’s not worth the effort.

When I bought my bike at 2800kms the belt was one of the things I least liked. It chirped and squawked and let me down once on newly tarred gravel when chips of gravel got stuck to it and brought me to a grinding crashing halt'  Fixed the horrible noises by fitting a double row bearing to the rear pulley to cure the wobble [ thanks to drag bike mike]and an occasional rub of beeswax to the edges  It is silent now.
The newly tarred roads?  I have managed to avoid them so far

You make a good point, but chains can also experience problems causing rear wheel lockups. I'm not sure the odds are less on a chain. probably never been studied.

+1 on keeping the belt..No fuss, no muss.  no heavy oil residue top clean up...No oil on rims from flinging off the chain...

None of this information is true of modern o-ring and x-ring chains. I don’t oil any of my modern chains, I just keep them clean.
