We should be hardening our defenses, not ignoring facts.
Trump's problem is he wants to ignore safety precautions and open everything up.
Those two wishes are in conflict.

Masks and distancing work.
This isn’t a presidential or vice presidential debate so you can’t hide behind words. Trump does not want to ignore safety precautions. That’s an absolute 100% lie, a fabrication. Admit that upfront. It’s not true.
Trump feels like many people do, that the cure is worse than the disease. There’s a way to do both. That’s what his point has always been. His point has not been to ignore it, again that’s a lie. His point has been to be more reasonable and to remember lockdowns have enormous consequences, far more than just economic. In some cases, those consequences or worse than the disease itself.
.As I told you, I know six people who contracted Covid and I’ll have recovered fully. But I knew two people who killEd themselves in part because im sure their mental illnesses was driven deeper because they were locked down and away from the contact with people that they needed to hold their inner demons at bay. Lockdowns have consequences.
