"I want to get for you what I got and I’m gonna make it free. You’re not gonna pay for it. It wasn’t your fault that this happened. It was China’s fault and China’s gonna pay a big price for what they’ve done to this country."

I say China will pay for this the same way Mexico is paying billions for the wall.

Trump's concierge care treatment was estimated at $400.000...

Speaking of 7 million, if 7 million people in the US have tested positive for Covid, that’s about two or 2 1/2% of the total US population. Just saying.

The problem with minimizing a pandemic is that your argument diminishes every day.
Don't count on the number of infected or dead to decrease.
We're barely 6 months in,... the Spanish flu hit hardest in the second wave.
We should be hardening our defenses, not ignoring facts.

Trump's problem is he wants to ignore safety precautions and open everything up.
Those two wishes are in conflict.
An open restaurant with no customers is a bad business model.
Getting control of the spread is the path to reopening.
Masks and distancing work.

I thought if we flattened the curve for two weeks, it would be okay..
Pretty sure that's what I was told.

This isn’t a presidential or vice presidential debate so you can’t hide behind words. Trump does not want to ignore safety precautions. That’s an absolute 100% lie, a fabrication. Admit that upfront. It’s not true.

Trump feels like many people do, that the cure is worse than the disease. There’s a way to do both. That’s what his point has always been. His point has not been to ignore it, again that’s a lie. His point has been to be more reasonable and to remember lockdowns have  enormous consequences, far more than just economic. In some cases, those consequences or worse than the disease itself.

.As I told you, I know six people who contracted Covid and I’ll have recovered fully. But I knew  two people who killEd themselves in part because im sure their mental illnesses was driven deeper because they were locked down and away from the contact with people that they needed to hold their inner demons at bay. Lockdowns have consequences.

I agree with this.  I just think he does an absolutely terrible job of conveying it to a mass audience.

A big issue is that people tend to jump to one extreme on the lockdown concept and then share information they like, without doing anything close to real research, or even accepting the reality of the environment they are in.

Another issue is that the initial response to unknown disease is always wrong.  People will just use the current information and pretend that somehow people in the past should have known what we know now and made better decisions then.  Just learn from the mistakes.
