The truth is the only thing good about that windshield is for the passenger. I like the little racy aluminum ones.

The plan is to paint the car in two tone to match the Suzuki colors. I have the paint mixed already and hoped to paint it this year but ran out of time. It will look similar to the photo below in matching colors to the bike.

Awesome!!  I love it!!  Great taste you have.   Smiley

As for the cables with the tracker style bars.  Mine are stock and a little too long.  But, I think my 96 would have had the bullhorns from the factory.  (The guy I got it from put drag bars on it.)  I have a stock 2006 in the garage.  I'll see if they look significantly shorter.

Yeah I think it will look awesome matching paint. Thanks for the positive comments.

Will do some searches on the drag bars to bullhorns because I think that would be the best for steering. I seem to remember reading about issues with cables tho. It gets expensive when you have to change everything to put different bars on...been there before.

It all depends on your particular configuration

I had buckhorns, I can put on dragbars or superbars with any riser.
the stock dragbar cable is 1 or 2" shorter than the buckhorns.

I just looked on partzilla and they are different part numbers.  The throttle and clutch cables are only about $25 each, but the brake line is over $100.  

I'll have take at the 2006 look and see if/how much shorter they are.

Go to Vehnill USA for the hydraulic brake line - they will make it any length and any color you want for half the cost of the Suzuki part.

This was supposed to be a budget project. I was trying to put the sidecar to use after the Royal Enfield was lost in the fire.

I bought the 2011 S40 For $800. The guy said he couldn’t get it running and battery was dead because it sat for a couple years. The bike had 5000 miles. I took my power pack and it turned over so I thought it was the usual dirty carbs and the price was right so I bought it. Cleaned the carb and did the mods from this forum. It shot flames out the exhaust. I did a compression test and it was 45PSI. I ran my bore scope down the plug hole and the cylinder was scorched. I bought a cylinder, piston and rings. When I got it torn down the cam and journals were shot. Bought a used engine for the head and cam. Rebuilt the engine. Got it running nice. Added Dyna exhaust. New battery...etc.

Made subframe to mount the sidecar. Had matching paint mixed to paint the sidecar.

So gradually this has already sucked up a lot more money than I planned. It will be a nice little rig once it’s done.

At this point changing bars If I need cables and brake line + bars...and I haven’t even asked about wiring, is just too much until I get a chance to ride it enough to make a judgement on steering.

I really appreciate all the help, but had to point out that funds are getting tight so anything I put into it will have to be absolutely necessary.
