 I may not agree with the advertising method but what I do know is that people don't watch documentaries anywhere near as much as they do feature film.  Adolescents especially.  If stuff like this brings attention to a problem and portrays children as victims, I say its OK.  Ignoring it or complaining without action for sure won't solve anything.

 Netflix losing some money won't stop one child predator from abusing a kid, or increase sentencing lengths, or stop one kid from being groomed into child prostitution.  Netflix's bottom line wouldn't be as effective, to me, as supporting stronger protection legislation for children.  Education to predator tactics, creating awareness to the SM culture around sexualizing youth and their participation in it.  But I can see how dropping a subscription can help us feel better.

   Anyone really interested in how this will impact children and wanting to make a difference will have to consider the impacts of events like this, and as far as I am concerned man-up and watch the film to see what it portrays.  Or maybe just a screen read/storypanel.  At least at that point an educated argument can be made since it is very common to discount the opinions of people that have never participated in a topic.

 For instance people who "boycott" rodeos after working in them are listened to more than people who "boycott" rodeos because they read an article online.  

 I'm not saying anyone should watch the film, I am saying if you want to make an educated argument you would have to.

 Lets look at the fact that you only select the portion of a sentence you want to address and not the entire sentence which allows it to remain in context:

 I think anyone who wants to develop an argument for or against this film needs to watch it in order to have equal weight to their opinions to those that already have.  This again very specifically outlines the type of person this would be directed at.

 I think impact on Netflix financial structure will not in any way benefit children, but it will make us feel better.

 This does not mean I have an opinion about the morality of this film, or an opinion about anyone watching it, or not watching it.  But lets say I did so you have something to complain about.
