To answer your original question: If your bike had a catastrophic engine failure while you were riding it, you would know! ... and your valves would be the least of your problems.

If you're prepared to spend around $100, then do a minor service on the bike (oil, fuel, filter etc) ... plus the raptor petcock. Then see if she fires up.

You'll have a sound baseline to begin troubleshooting. And with the combined experience/knowledge/enthusiasm here on this site you'll most likely get best result possible.
