OK so 21 million cell phones (supposedly near impossible to cancel in china) go dark since Dec, when the usual rate is an expansion of 40 million (same period last year).

Yup they've changed their lifestyle - from being alive to dead.

I understand that they have a local number and one from back home. And they have returned home and cancelled the "local" from their place of work. LOL except, if there was a lockdown in place, how did they return home ?

Well now that china has reopened everything, we should see the normal pattern of 5-10 million increase every month. These 21 mil should just come back now.
