I was only musing yesterday how my seven year old 2013 rMBP, is as good as it was the day I bought it. It was the 2nd gen MacBook with the retina display. If you told me I'd still be happy with it seven years later, I'd not have expected that. Mind you I did have some problems with it but all fixed free of charge by apple even when it was out of warranty. New circuit board and new display. Still a decent sized SSD at 512gb and runs the latest software. And it's probably still worth a grand if I wanted to sell it.

By the time I'm ready for a new one, Apple will have ditched Intel for sure, they'll be run with their own custom Arm processors. I'll probably get a new one when the 2nd gen ARM MBPros are released. Never ever has any malware or viruses, even though I pirate almost everything, which I do more as a hobby.
