If government is mismanaging the virus
03/18/20 at 06:48:04

Should that make the idea that the government should run the health care system something to reconsider?
And the complaint that the administration is asleep at the wheel in dealing with it, while pissing and moaning that everything Trump has done is racist, xenophobic, etc,, just how is it possible to have both attitudes?
Is Trump STILL Hitler? Which Izzit?

I can easily see how public healthcare is worse - look at every country that has it, hordes of people show up at every free clinic there is cluelessly spreading it. If the crap is free, when 1 person has a need, 100 will try to get their hands in the pie. Far more contagion for something without a cure.

This also is a good good good case for border walls and to minimize trade and travel between the 3rd world countries and those like Europe where sheitte is "free" and the US which is the country that makes the most noise when people catch a disease.

I don't see how this market crash they have engineered costs Trump any votes if he says these points.

More tariffs, quarantine every one getting off a plane, don't travel to POS slave camps and definitely don't buy sheitte from them and block off people from other POS countries with a land border (Wall).

Cool.

Thanks for pointing that out..
The reason I posted the questions was to illustrate the inherent contradictions in the minds of the people who think government run healthcare is a goal.
It's CLEARLY a bad idea
But the idea of
Human RIGHT
And Health care for All
Though lofty goals and, if actually  ,
Reasonably, PROPERLY done obviously a good thing, but human nature and reality make it impossible.
The
Other places do it and it's great
Argument is Bullshit.
Free market, no hmo BULLSHIT
And things would be fine.
Government,, ?
Ridiculous

If government is mismanaging the virus

In the absence of a vaccine or a treatment for an infectious disease - neither of which we have got for this one - people develop an immunity to the disease by catching it, and recovering.

Like measles, mumps, chickenpox, even flu before vaccines were developed and commonplace.

So, after everyone that hasn't caught the WuFlu is locked in their houses for two, four, six, or however many months the government decides is enough, finally come out, and there are still a bunch of infected but not symptomatic people walking around, what then ?

Round two ?

You got this all wrong, this lockdown isn't to prevent the woohoo virus from spreading, it's to prevent everyone from catching at once and overwhelming hospitals.
Once a large enough population has caught it (and died or recovered) then there will be less of a chance that hospitals will be overwhelmed.

I understand that.

But not overwhelming the healthcare system one time doesn't necessarily solve the underlying problem.

With a huge cohort of folks suddenly coming out of isolation  who are still liable to get infected and ill because the virus is still in the population, and those folks haven't had a chance to develop any natural immunity by being exposed ,whats to stop the whole cycle from starting all over again?

That's assuming there is no treatment developed by then. Or that the virus doesn't somehow simply disappear. That happens, but not always. Seasonal flu for example or the kiddie diseases I mentioned. The vaccines keep them at bay in this country but they are still around.

Pay attention to China in .say, about six weeks. If  the WuFlu pops back up over there once everyone is back at work cranking out smartphones and sneakers, we'll know it's time for plan B.

And even if this sh*t doesn't turn out be be any different or worse than some of the pandemics of the past, as some folks seem to think, the REACTION to it is certainly different. Whole books are gonna get written speculating about the reasons for that.

So far , there just doesn't seem to be any
Herd Immunity
From Panic..
IDK which is the real
Disruptor,
The virus or the
Reaction..
The cruise ship was an absolute
Worst case scenario for spreading it
Yet only 17% got it and half of them had no symptoms..
Not sure the fear I'm seeing is justified.
