Will make a nice nice knife. I get a friend to do this and I trade him home made hyper fermented beer, or the utterly delish hyper freeze concentrated to near whisky strength.

Cool.

@stewmills, Holy mother of f.uck, someone's looking after you. I bought a circular saw recently and whenever I use it, I have all these images of body parts being chopped off.

Sometimes we are so careful but then drop our guard for a moment and wham. The gf was cleaning the chain on her bike and instead of leaving it in gear and turning the back wheel as I told her to do, she instead put it in neutral and spun the chain while holding a rag. She thought this was the fun  way to spin the chain  till it pulled her finger in. Thankfully she was as lucky as you and did not lose her flute playing finger.

Having had a few close shaves myself, like being t-boned by a nurse coming out of a hospital driveway and ramming the carburettor into my leg, smashing my tib/fib, the accident inspector told me that had it not been a boxer bmw, this would have been a 100% lose your leg accident, I will repeat you were extremely lucky.

Wish, I could post the video, staged, of a man attempting to start a chainsaw with the bar between his legs.

Here's a comment...

I sure hope he gets it started. He shouldn't be reproducing.

~13 week update.

Cool scar and hand works like it should (I exercise it 16oz's at a time almost daily Cool ), just feels funny (or lack thereof) on the back of the hand where there is no feeling.  I have learned to be careful where I stick it as to not pinch, poke or burn it on things without knowing it.

Now...for Ruttly's forthcoming wisecracks  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Looks pretty good. Amazing all things considered.

I had a good bit of nerve damage after a shattered tibial plateau.  My foot felt like it was frostbitten for a few years. Then just my big toe.  Now, about 18 years later it feels almost completely normal.  Hopefully you'll recover fully over time.

Wow!  Ouch!

I just saw this post.  That is one impressive trophy Stew.

Glad you are on the mend.  I just put a new guard on my chop saw a few weeks back.  I'm thinkin maybe I should have done that long ago.

This is not exactly related but I got stung by a sting ray in the ankle. I don't know what was on the stinger but it was numb for years. I had the last laugh though. I still have the stinger but he is eaten. Smiley

Don't worry I won't ask where you stick you hand.
Mostly cause we really don't want to know !
Some of that numbness should go away in time. Years.
