Speedo buzzing
02/08/20 at 13:24:30
I've tried searching the Forum but found no hits. My speedo buzzes when the rpm's are up. Especially in 5th at 55 to 65 mph. It screams! I took off the tank and the 3 nuts on the springs are tight. How now?

I used RTV shot inside the three springs ,basically filling the springs in a cylinder shape . I think the springs have a frequency, RTV seems to cancel.

You can replace those springs with some fuel line

You can stretch the springs with a pair of pliers ... worked for me. I stretched them to about 50% longer then stuck 'em back in.

IslandRoad, the spring stretch did the trick! Thanks for the advice.

Great info. Years ago (like around 1989) I had this buzzing problem on an old 4-speed LS. I never figured it out. Drove me nuts. Now I know how to fix it. Thanks for letting us know how it worked out.
