Trying to figure out how to mount this remote
01/24/20 at 00:32:44
I bought some speakers online and the only remote that is available looks like it goes on a keychain. I’m trying to figure out a way to get it on my handlebars but I’m running out of ideas.

There are tach/Speedo mounts that use a kind of c-clamp onto the bar. They have a small plate that the gauge bolts on to. You could trim the plate down and stick the remote with some double-sided tape used for mounting badges.

There are other tach mounts that are basically a plate with holes. They're designed to slip between the handle bar clamps. Ryca used to sell them to mount the mini-tach, but they were about $65.
If that's the way you want to go I would just get some thin aluminium plate and make my own.
Or, alternatively, I made a tach mount using this method by Todd James. I reckon it would adapt nicely to what you're after (sticking the remote with double-sided tape):

Hard to tell how big that remote is.
I prefer the cheap, easy, don't care what it looks like method: Industrial strength velcro. Maybe with a safety lanyard through that key chain mount in case it decides to take flight.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

I mounted the GPS antenna for my speedometer on the top of the brake master cylinder using Velcro strips - works like a charm and it has never come loose.
When I need to check or change the fluid - the antenna just pulls off.

I ordered a 1 3/4 inch long bracket that mounts to my handlebars and I’m going to use Velcro. The Velcro won’t be visible and I’ll be able to detach the remote if needed

+1. I have similar widgets and I mounted with the super strong velcro and for safety have a wire tie or other lanyard type device tied to it "just in case". It is good to be able to remove it if needed in the event you get caught in a storm or to wash the bike.

Yeah Gary, but I think he is going for this set-up instead:

Hahaha that would be amazing. But I’ll post pictures when I get the bike back together. It’s just two speakers mounted to my handlebars. I’m a new rider so I wanted to be able to hear my surroundings as well.

You need to get you a slipstreamer windshield to help clear the wind noise. Cheap and easy to install, and if you are good with a jig saw and fine tooth blade you can cut the windshield down to any size and smooth the edges back with some 400/600 sandpaper. Worked easy for me.
