But on a serious note, the addition of the drive by shooter Mavi along with the continued presence of my good Chicago friend, the depths we've sunk have hit new lows, as evidenced by Eau's post to me, the one quoted above and practically anything Mavi writes.

I had suggested this to our fair and unbiased moderator before and I'd like to again.

Initiate a full "cease fire" on personal attacks and any violation after that is a one week suspension. 2nd offense is a month and 3rd you're banned from The Tall Table. We've tried cease fires before and they've all been unsuccessful. Like it or not, we are bound to one another in a way few voluntary escapes once they sit down. So we need a concrete mechanism.

As Bluto says in Animal House, "Come on, who's with me?!!!"

 I say if you don't like reading things you don't like on here then don't log in.  

 Its obvious at this point some members are unwilling to be civil, and if they are banned for a week they will come back complaining the Moderator was unfair, citing post comparisons from years ago.

 Stop insulting people but don't expect them to do the same to you.

"You're the one who's been initiating the personal attacks.  I give what I get."

 When people stop doing that the forum will stop deteriorating into a loop of people telling each other who started it.

 It's just words on a screen.  Why is that worth retaliation?
