Trump is now having to send tanks into Syria to protect the oil fields...
He will now have more troops in there than when he started...
Plus we've lost the bases we had, so our guys will probably be in more danger, and costs will rise.

Well one thing is this claim of "50 Advisors" being the total number of people moved under the Order to leave Syria is totally incorrect. The number is much higher.

As I've indicated on here before I have been in the area many times, and while I can't pass on all the things I am involved in, I can say that the declassified information regarding the negotiaions around the depth of the "neutral" zone to be controlled by Turkey is true and was basically a debate over 20 or 10 miles, with the outcome of 12 being considered a satisfactory compromise.

There was no end in sight for that negotiation. So from what has happened I gather Trump just said, "Give them the 20 miles."

So yes we are now committing more personnel and resources to the area, but with an end, or at least an attainable goal in sight. Id take that over doing the same thing over and over for years with the same results.

Id like to have seen the implementation done differently, in a more "Allied Friendly" way, and I of course would like to have seen more honesty about this Cease Fire but with this President that's really not even possible.

Guess you missed the inception of this “policy” yesterday:

This hour, misreading “area” in the teleprompter as “oil”, Trump decided to try to cover the mistake, yet again, by rifting off-script-

“We've secured the oil... and for a small number of troops we're going to be protecting it... and we'll be deciding what we're going to be doing with it in the future.”

What a complete moron! He looked like a deer caught in the headlights of his own stupidity. Any person of at least average intelligence would have just noted misspeaking and move on- but not this imbecile, for whom a stumble of words becomes new US policy. The orange clown makeup, the stupid hand shake tug-of-war, this buffoonery -he's not just a national embarrassment, Trump's out of control narcissism is a danger to us all.

Exactly as predicted.

In fact the US is showing itself to be a reliable partner. For Russia and Turkey at least. Note the term Trump used they needed to be 'cleaned out', The Kurds will hear this for what it is. A dog whistle directly to Erdogan.
