Fox News poll shows Trump nine points behind Biden in Wisconsin, a key swing state
WASHINGTON – A new poll conducted for Fox News shows President Donald Trump nine percentage points behind former Vice President Joe Biden in the key swing state of Wisconsin.
Biden polled at 48%, and Trump polled at 39% in the poll' head-to-head matchups.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., also held leads over Trump, though their leads were within the margin of error for the poll.
Warren bested Trump 45%-41%, and Sanders led 45%-40%.
Trump won Wisconsin by a narrow margin in 2016 – meaning that early polling could spell trouble for Trump going into the 2020 elections.
Forty-three percent of voters in the poll said they were satisfied with the direction of the country, in contrast with 55% dissatisfied.
Forty-four percent approved of Trump's job as president, and 54% disapproved.
Asked about the current controversy surrounding Trump's pressuring of the Ukrainian government to open an investigation into Biden's son Hunter Biden, 62% of voters found it "extremely," "very," or "somewhat" concerning, and 30% were not concerned.
Forty-two percent of voters said Trump needed to be impeached and removed from office, and 48% said he should not be impeached and removed.
Reflecting partisan divisions, though, both the question about Ukraine and the question about impeachment split among party lines.
Most Democrats found the Ukraine controversy concerning, whereas a majority of Republicans did not.
Eighty-two percent of Democrats thought Trump needed to be impeached and removed from office, in contrast with only 4% of Republicans.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 among 1,512 Wisconsin voters, with a sampling margin of error of 2.5 percentage points.
But hey, it is fox news. I'm sure everyone would agree that's a terrible source, right?
