Swingarm Silliness

So, I've been playing with a very cool aluminum alloy called 7068. Rated as as strong as 404 Stainless (although it prob flexes a tiny bit more).
Decided to make a swingarm pivot pin out of the stuff. Figured that loaded in shear, it really can't go too far wrong (and really can't flex).
Made a pin and a nut. Figure that they are so cute (and can't rust), that I can leave the caps off the ends.
Goal is to knock 100 pounds off the bike. This is about 1/2 pound. It all adds up :-0
BTW, I never use the torque spec for a swingarm pin. I pull the shocks and slowly tighten the swingarm pivot nut until the swingarm just falls under it's own weight. No slop, no binding, no drag. They seem happiest this way.

Are you planning on selling all of these light weight replacements down the road Armen? Especially as a set.

Nope, not for sale. Not cost effective for me to make them.
Just posting it as puttering porn.

Then you should start with something smaller than the Savage......the engine weighs close to 100 pounds!
