Totalmotorcycle.com has a different list and the S40 is on it for 2020.
Strange.
Wonder what their sources are ?

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Whatever, a 34 year production run isn't too bad and there will be a lot of bikes around for the next five years or so.

It would be a total shame to discontinue the S40.  Sure, it puts on on no pretenses, but it is a great all around bike.

I have seen in other years that the S40 was not in the initial online web page and it caused us to worry - but it was added to the web page later.  It could be the S40 is not being included as they don't know what color the paint or metal bits will be .....or the website is posted when it is mostly complete and the S40 is added later........or it could be they won't make it for 2020.

At this point we will just have to wait and see what happens - maybe there is a delay while they add fuel injection, fix the petcock and chain tensioner, add a modern electronic speedometer and cruise control! Wink

I sure hope they don't add modern electronics to the S40. IMO that will ruin it. I'm all for adding better brakes though so that the bike can keep up with modern traffic patterns on our highways where 80 mph is the new normal. The existing brakes are not up to it at all. I know because it's what I contend with daily.

Adding technology for technologies sake is a waste. Keep what's there but improve it for the demands of modern riding.

And once all that technology goes in say goodbye to fixing it yourself and making mods.
