A 1935 Harley Davidson VLD Flathead. If you could go to a dealership and ride a new one off the showroom floor today would you do it?

If the MSRP was $320 like it was in 1935 I would.

Adjust the price for inflation; nope.

Even Harley has come a long way since those days.

My '04 Sportster is vintage enough for me. Smiley

I think the Royal Enfield Twin might be Old-School enough , but that chain drive really turns me off .

If you are going to ride a vintage/antique pre war 2 bike, live with its shortcomings.

No......it is a hard tail with a springer front end, foot clutch, and likely would struggle to go 60 mph.  The appeal for me would be to own an original vintage machine - not a modern copy.

Nah.  The only HD that I would be interested in is a street-legal XR750 or the newer XG750R. And yes, it has to be the "R", not some wussified, ass-ugly XG750 Street.

Classic XR750

Modern XG750R

That's pure motorcycle porn ! Classic XR750. What sexy lines and shapes. This bike and the Champion framed flat trackers are what we strive to copy for our street trackers. If you build and/or ride trackers you are different. You are strutting your sophisticated tastes in motorcycles and you truely love to raise hell on the street.

Nope, I wouldn't want one.  When I first started riding bikes there were lots of them and similar ones around town.  Foot clutch and shifter up along the tank side, not very safe.  And the hard tail bounced around like crazy.  They could be bought for $50 in the late 1950s and early 60s.
