Lucked out with the eye staying about 50 miles off the Daytona Beach shore line. We got tropical force winds and rain but no major tree damage. Still need to check the shop but it's roof is still there. Could of been worse, haven't run out of beer.

Welp, we made out very well, actually. Wind blew quite a bit, 60 mph at least, and we got 6-8 inches of rain, gauge overflowed and someone poured it out. But we only had a few limbs and such down here. There was very little, like none really, storm surge around here. We lost power for about 12 hours, a long time for the line we are on. our electric co op has 23000 members, 17000 were without power to begin with. I think now there are maybe 6000 without. Remember that is just our co op. Phone and internet was out until today. Cell service has been weaker than normal. But the Lord blessed us. Ocracoke got spanked, I hear. That is in Hyde County, like me. They are going to be cleaning up and fixing for a long time.

It was CRAZY last night, never seen anything like it in my 66 years.
The house was shaking from all the thunder, lost power briefly.
I wouldn't even venture outside until it was further away.

I got some pretty good video, after I felt safe, but another close one drove me back in Grin

Glad to hear you made it OK. The northern hurricanes are pretty rare which makes them even more of a surprise when they hit. Sort of like getting a Northeaster on steroids wasn't it.
