Pining your hopes........
08/26/19 at 16:43:35

Kinda odd that the democrats are hoping for a recession to take out Trump.

What makes them think that they won't be hurt by it, just like Russia, Mueller, Avenatti & Stormy, etc.....

I gotta believe they will catch the scrutiny, as Trump would turn it back on them, just like everything else he has been able to skate by.

Lets say it works, through all the negative narratives, etc, a recession comes to be, Trump lost.....now they will have to dig themselves outta a hole, or face a angry electorate come midterm.

Not to even mention how the winner would have to placate those who want FREE SOCIALISM.....
When the economy is down, how is that going to generate the money to pay for it?

Times running out on this get Trump and all the dead ends.....

Me thinks they better get a message together, and it better be one that resonates with swing voters, and quick.....
They shouldn't be spending so much time and energy on their base, not at this point.
I think because Hillary had to fight off Bernie, so late in the game, she never could get on even ground with her message to the, er....deplorables, and it cost her ( yeah, I know about her negative numbers, that is a different issue ).

Pissing off more Trump supports will just drive more to the polls.

How they can stir up such anger, and then expect these folks to just "turn it off" and jell behind the candidate, that was just spewing hate at their choice of candidate, seems a big leap in faith.....which I find hard to accept, given the nature of these folks to begin with.

They hate Trump more, that's the reasoning....
Not very solid, or sure, in my view.

I can't argue that at face value, that was a contributing factor no doubt....
But you neglected the second element to my observation and that is these voters appear at fever pitch, against each other.....
Lots of fanning the flames, etc....
With Trump against Hillary, the voters who put Trump in were almost as mad at their own party choices, I believe, so it was not so fragmented....

I mean look how fast Bush, got dumped, as compared to Bernie dogging Hillary up to the end, practically....

What democrats are hoping for a recession?

What makes them think that they won't be hurt by it, just like Russia, Mueller, Avenatti & Stormy, etc.....

A recession has nothing to do with "negative narratives, etc.".  trump has run up the deficit and gave a trillion to the rich...  That's what causes a recession.

Not to even mention how the winner would have to placate those who want FREE SOCIALISM.....
When the economy is down, how is that going to generate the money to pay for it?

Take away the tax breaks for one.  Start back towards a marginalized tax structure - you know, like in the heydays of this country - the 50's.

Times running out on this get Trump and all the dead ends.....

Me thinks they better get a message together, and it better be one that resonates with swing voters, and quick.....

They have a message and it resonates with most everyone.  Most importantly, it resonates with the young voters of this country who can see where we're headed.  If you don't know what it is, that's your fault.

They shouldn't be spending so much time and energy on their base, not at this point.

They're not.  Four years ago, Medicare for all was taboo.  Now it's mainstream.  Climate change was being laughed at - now it's at the forefront.  You think that the likes of Bernie and Warren are focused on the establishment?  Think again.

I think because Hillary had to fight off Bernie, so late in the game, she never could get on even ground with her message to the, er....deplorables, and it cost her ( yeah, I know about her negative numbers, that is a different issue ).

Pissing off more Trump supports will just drive more to the polls.

40% is always going to be 40%.  trump can't and won't get past that.

How they can stir up such anger, and then expect these folks to just "turn it off" and jell behind the candidate, that was just spewing hate at their choice of candidate, seems a big leap in faith.....which I find hard to accept, given the nature of these folks to begin with.

Again, 40% is only 40% - even on the best days....

They hate Trump more, that's the reasoning....
Not very solid, or sure, in my view.

There's more than enough reason to hate trump.  Obama was a saint compared to him.  The economy had better hold out, or he's gonna be in a world of hurt

No. You're missing a key element.

Yes, the hatred towards Hillary Clinton was huge. Assume the hatred towards Trump in those 5 or 6 key swing states is equal. (huge assumption but let's go with it)
The other element was the widespread resentment towards the biased media and the entertainment culture. Trump's popularity also was based on his ability to flip the middle finger to the network news and Katy Perry, Bruce Springsteen, Alex Baldwin etc....  That added an element to the equation that doesn't exist today.

Assume the hatred for Trump is equal. What else pushes the Democrat candidate over the top?

What you seem to constantly forget is that many of trump's most staunch supporters (those that voted for him, not against Hillary), like farmers, truckers, coal miners, auto workers - are now souring on his sh!tty handling of their specific needs.  Over 7000 farms lost in Wisconsin alone under his watch.  The Lordstown plant in Ohio - gone.  JB Hunt trucking is is down "only" 4%, but what's more telling, they're not hiring nearly as much as a year ago. Remember the coal mines that trump was going to "resurrect"?  How'd that work out?

No, this is way beyond "bad press".  This is shining a light on trump's ineptitude.  It's a shame it's taken this long for all those people he promised to help see it.

Hell, even you said your managers basically laugh at him and do what they want.  You want to tell me how that equals "great leadership"?

Only a moron of epic proportions would have approval ratings in the toilet in what has been a decent economy (up until now).

The other element was the widespread resentment towards the biased media and the entertainment culture.

I believe this element is surely a factor Mark.
Given the low ratings at CNN, etc, shows folks are turning them off, and we know what their message is.

I think it also taints polls, as these folks just don't participate in them.

Its hard to count those who do not want to be counted.

I also think the all the failed "WE GOT TRUMP..... THIS TIME" has led to people just ignoring them.

I see these voters growing, not shrinking, especially in the minority communities that have fared historically better, than ever before, the incessant pandering, is having a negative effect, on those who have enjoyed that success.

Yeah, it's the media and the constant trump bashing....<<<<sarcasm.

Do you have data related to "I see these voters growing, not shrinking, especially in the minority communities that have fared historically better".

You see those voters... how?

Sounds like conjecture to me, but if you have data.....

But hey, you guys can continue to make excuses for why trump is tanking all day.  The fact of the matter is - he's losing.  Again, 7000 farms gone in Wisconsin alone.  Lordstown - gone.

People counted on him because they thought he'd be different.  They all got duped by this sham of a president.

Hell, did you see his announcement on Saturday?  He's baiting his base with "If Republicans take back the House, and keep the Senate and Presidency, one of our first acts will be to approve a major middle income Tax Cut!"

How fukcing transparent... he gives himself and his buddies trillions, but holds out on the middle class.  Anyone who falls for that sh!t is an idiot.

Just keep watching as the days go by, he'll be doing more to distract than to improve.

I think you and mark are way off on this.  Like I said from the start - trump is his own worst enemy.

The "top" is around 40%...  it ain't all that high a hurdle.

Trump's only hope is Putin's ability to interfere.
7,000 farms closed in Wisconsin alone.. That is at least 10.000 votes I doubt will go to Trump... when he can't afford to lose one.  What about all the farmers in other states?... miners, steel workers, truckers, assembly line workers?
Tariffs are killing them.
First time voters are 70% Democrat... the Republican base isn't growing.  They're younger, more diverse, better educated, more worldly.

I don't just see Trump losing,.. I see him getting buried.
