Looking for a vacuum plug cap
08/23/19 at 10:22:18

I replaced my stock petcock with the Yamaha Raptor petcock and did a temporary seal of my vacuum plug by folding up the rubber tubing there and zip tying it.
Does anyone have an extra vacuum plug cap they can gift me? I can pay for the stamps/shipping.  The auto parts store here wants like $7 for a pack of 4.  I just need one.
Thanks!

I don't have a plug but just an FYI I hose-clamped the folded rubber tubing on mine years ago and its never failed.

If you just want a cleaner look I understand the cap, or a bullet casing with sealant.  If you don't care just snag a hose clamp and it will work fine until that hose rots which could be years away.

The PO of my bike folded and zip tied the tubing AND put silicone in the end.  It has lasted years and still works great.  You can shove a bolt or some other plug in there too.

A modified rivet will do the job.
I have a bunch of flat head rivets that are slightly smaller than the vac port ID.  I put it in a vice and compressed it until it was a tight fit.  Then I hammered it in.  To remove it takes a pin punch from the other side.

A round head rivet with a little RTV would work too.

But I've been meaning to try a 1/4" copper tubing solder cap with RTV.

I stuck a small yellow wire nut in mine, it was suppose to be temporary, but it's still there.
