Throttle housing, aftermarket?
08/14/19 at 18:09:10

Has anyone found a throttle housing that will work with our stock cable? The one I ordered didn't work because I couldn't get the throttle cable through the hole on the housing since the little piece on the end of the cable wouldn't fit through the hole.  Sad

I've never messed with that, but maybe you are supposed to pull the cable off the bike and thread it through that hole.

Not sure what you mean, the little tiny barrel thing at the end of the cable is soldered onto the end of the cable.

What's on the other end?
Maybe take the whole cable off the bike, poke it thru the hole, and run it back to the carburetor?

I drilled the hole on my aftermarket housing to accept the stock cable. I would not recommend doing this as the throttle now can be pushed forward and get stuck, not a problem if you know its there but you can't push your weight into the throttle. Building new cables isn't that hard, I'd suggest just doing it the right way 😉

I don't know how to go about making my own throttle cable. Wish I did.

Google and youtube are your friends.

Also if you do end up building your own I have a few tips if you don't have all of the proper tools. Hit me up down the line.

Haha. I was already youtubing this when you replied. Doesn't seem too difficult. Thank you for making this suggestion to me.

Not at all, just make sure you measure multiple times and check the length with the bars going BOTH directions. Had to do the clutch cable twice because I thought I had them cocked to the longer side. I was wrong.
