Not A Fake Seal - A Fitting One

Trump delivered a speech in front of a fake presidential seal that showed a Russian imperial eagle clutching golf clubs

After a 12-minute video extolling his virtues as a leader, President Donald Trump took to the stage at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Washington, DC, on Tuesday to deliver a speech to thousands of young, cheering supporters at the Turning Point USA conference.

But as Trump stood enjoying the rapturous welcome, no one seemed to notice that there was something subtly different about the presidential seal that was being shown on the screen behind him.

Instead of the bald eagle featured in the official seal of the president of the United States, the image featured a double-headed eagle, which bears a striking resemblance to the one on the official coat of arms of the Russian Federation.

The alteration seemed designed to poke fun at Trump over his administration's controversial ties to Russia, which US intelligence says interfered in the US election in a bid to aid Trump's candidacy.

And instead of clutching arrows in its left claw, the eagle in the altered image held golf clubs — most likely a not-so-subtle reference to one of Trump's favorite hobbies.

It just goes to show how poorly this administration is run. No attention to detail, no follow through, no double checks, etc.

It also shows how little respect this idiot of a president gets.

Very clever on the part of the graphics creator though!! A very fitting seal for an inept, russian controlled, golf playing, piss-poor excuse for a president!

The White house didn't provide this media and as such is not responsible to look at detail, follow-through or double check.

It is not exactly common for a White house AV tech to provide and run all graphics presented at every location a President is at all times. If US taxpayers heard that a full-time graphics security agent was on standby at all events they would be screaming about misuse of taxpayer funds.

Someone pulled a joke. Given the event type, and use of media this could have happened to any President.

Perhaps, but unlikely.

I can say that I've been behind the scenes at certain events that necessitated high security.

I was astounded at how granular the security detail got.

No, it was not a presidential event, however the level of security was high and the detail was impressive.

Suffice it to say, anything that was supporting the event, from the plants and flowers, to the lighting, signage and support was gone over with a fine tooth comb.

This administration seems quite lax in many facets of detail. His incessant tweeting, his off the cuff and incredibly false statements, and overall lack of professionalism lead many (me included) to believe that this is a shotty run administration.
