That was fun......

Kids just left to return home to SoCal after a weeks vacation with us here on the island.....
I forgot how much work kids are  Grin

Had a great time, will miss them a bunch.

First day out on the boat crabbing, even tho it turned wet and rainy on us, was GREAT....
We pulled 22 BIG crab after just one 2 hour soak  Smiley

We are crabbed-out  Shocked

Have over 6 pounds of crab meat all cleaned and tucked away in 6 ounce portions ready for winters recipes, with 2 months of summer crabbing left!

The pot puller works great, no more backaches  Grin

Did lots of fun stuff, I rented a 7 passenger van so I could do all the driving and everyone else could relax.
My kids are beer drinkers, and love all the micro brews Washington has, so me diving really helped them sample all of those choices  Cheesy

Hope everyone is having a GREAT summer!

Peace all!

Yeah....I found a new method to catch crabs.....

Most folk use a trap a trap made out of metal, has a couple of doors they crawl in, etc.

I on the other hand, came up with my own method.....

I go down to the local dive, steal the toilet seat, tie it to 100 feet of line, toss it in.....

Toilet seats and crabs, just like LaVerne and Shirley, Peanut Butter and Jelly, they go together GREAT!

Stealing toilet seats, Ray?

At least you are not stealing the whole toilet.

That happened to a local Police department, one morning they came in and all the toilets were were missing, the thieves hit both the mens and ladies rooms.

The cops were left with nothing to go on...……………. Cheesy

Heading back out in a hour or so.....
The salmon opener was Friday, lots of King Salmon caught, LOTS of boats at the ramp..... Angry

Most are heading in, out of the water from fishing this morning.

These are downrigger fish, deep, over a hundred feet down, not my kind of fishing. I will wait until the coho salmon show up, maybe in a few weeks or so....
I love fishing them on light tackle, not all that hardware you use fishing the Chinook Salmon.
Its a Pink Salmon year too....that gets crazy, lots of fun to catch, and you are allowed 4 per day, which adds up to a lot of meat quickly.

Only got 4 keepers, had to toss back that many that were soft, they are changing their shells, etc, can't keep them when this is occurring....

We fished a little bit to, my wife caught this 11 pound cabazon on this tiny little fishing rod.....!!!!

It was so funny, that thing took her almost to china  Grin

GREAT eating fish, all white meat, firm, almost lobster like.

Weather was great, had a great time with my wife and our two pups....
