That's true enough.
But we also unfortunately live in an age where perfectly innocent objects, images and even words are perceived as racially intimidating, and the perception, never mind how looney the person doing the perceiving happens to be, becomes reality and is treated as such. That aint funny either, and is a symptom of an underlying pathology that a surprising number of otherwise seemingly intelligent people are afflicted with IMO.

Since some people have used ropes and knots to make politically charged statements and to intimidate, all knots that even resemble a noose are suspect and the innocent people who are subjected to them are traumatised because they are too stupid to know what they are looking at and they are LOOKING for anything that they can point to and be butthurt over and offended by.
