The common denominator is the anger of the Modern Democratic Leftist Party.
I think the line below is particularly revealing.

With the benefit of hindsight, there may be a simple explanation for the rapid rise and rapid fall of the far left: Its appeal was always more negative than positive

That quote is from the article dealing about Europe but certainly applies to the US as brilliantly noted in the Manhattan Contrarian.

Regarding Europe, I previously worked for a company with HQ in Hungary so I went there a few times. Now I work for a company based in Sweden so I go there now and then. So consequently when I see news about those nations, I pay attention a bit more than normal.

Probably because of their recent history of being dominated by USSR, they resisted the pull of leftist after their freedom and have remained a fairly conservative nation. Sweden seems leftist and in many ways they are, but the recent actions of opening their nation up to huge immigration without assimilation has somewhat backfired. Our people there tell me there's a growing sense of a direction change. Let's hope so. One thing about Swedes is they love their lifestyle which includes a tremendous amount of free time. That requires money. Swedes are capitalist at heart. The appear socialistic but that's really because they have no military budget to speak of. That's what the people who live there tell me.

Anyway, two good articles to read.

Anyway, two good articles to read.

Especially liked the quote's:

"...reports of socialism’s resurrection were greatly exaggerated..."

"...benefit of hindsight, there may be a simple explanation for the rapid rise and rapid fall of the far left: Its appeal was always more negative than positive...."

"...The past years have shown that the task of sustaining that initial surge of support is far harder than the movement’s most bullish cheerleaders recognize..."

"...Some members of the Democratic Socialists of America, for example, simply want to emulate the rich democracies that provide their citizens with a generous welfare state. But others seek to “abolish capitalism” or sing the praises of the Venezuelan dictatorship...."

"...the history ...  ...should know that some socialists crafted systems that left virtually no space to private enterprise and crushed the political freedoms of dissenters..."

"...Socialists who nationalized large parts of the economy, and severely restricted the functioning of the market, crushed freedom in two ways: First, they made it impossible for citizens to engage in private economic initiative. And second, they quickly started to abuse the power to take away the livelihood of political opponents...."

"...Instead of clearing, Sanders’s long-standing ambiguity about the nature of the socialism for which he stands settled over me like a sea of fog...."

"...Sanders name-checked Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini but remained silent about Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong..."

"...Franklin Delano Roosevelt were clear about the benefits of markets and forthright about the dangers of left-wing authoritarianism...."

 Here is another one:
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2019/04/democratic-socialism-sur...

"...Caroline Schoonover has two immediate goals. One of them is to systematically dismantle capitalism. The other is to finish watching all seven seasons of Vanderpump Rules...."
"...Schoonover, who grew up near Martensdale, Iowa, just south of the state capital, is one of the thousands of Millennials across the country who joined the Democratic Socialists of America..."
(tt did ya get that, ...one of the thousands of Millennials across the country...)

"...Even the national DSA organization doesn’t have a set definition. “We have various definitions,..."
"...Under the DSA umbrella, one can expect to find all types of political philosophies, including Marxists, Leninists, communists, and even libertarian socialists...."

"...Schoonover’s chapter, which has about 160 members, didn’t exist before 2016—none of Iowa’s DSA groups did. In the more than two years since the presidential election, membership in the organization around the country has grown dramatically—from 6,000 to 56,000—and ..."
(tt did ya see that, (...membership ... around the country has grown dramatically—from 6,000 to 56,000...)

"...All the members at the meeting had their own reasons for joining the DSA, but most of those reasons were rooted in personal financial struggle: They were drowning in an ocean of student debt, or straining to pay their rent or afford their insurance premiums..."
"...DSA members like Sterling have concluded that the cause of their financial woes is capitalism—and that the solution is to replace it with something else..."
(tt can you say, 'gimme, gimme, gimme', LOL)

"...DSA members I met are frequent critics of many prominent Democrats, ..."

"...“Fuc k capitalism,” Shaw replied with a smile. The chapter members cheered...."

Oh tt, you don't have to read this.
I have read it for you, digested it, and given you all the information you need to know.

Which is More TRUE, today, than yesterday.('06, S-40, Stock) well, mostly .
