Early generator rotor vs. Late model

Trying to find the identifying mark that will indicate whether it's a late model rotor or an early model.
I think the early model has a "71" stamped on it and a short timing plate.
While the late model has a "72" stamped on it and a long timing plate.
Can anybody confirm?
