You should be able to get it running on prime.  A properly jetted engine should require choke when cold and half choke while warming up.  This is if it's been sitting for a period of time, like overnight.  If it's hot out and it has been warmed up at some point during the day, it will probably start without choke.

It is possible that you bike is jetted rich or has a high float which would cause flooding. If it's seems flooded, the try without the choke.

But your video sounds like a cold engine that needs a little extra fuel while it warms up which is normal.

I keep it inside my garage at night. It has been 90-96* and a bit humid.
Can it be also possible that theres a float in the carb preventing it from starting? I am almost certain the previous owner has never cleaned the carb.

Regarding ordering a petcock...
I went to the thread located here

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1251932429

This is the Raptor part no.  5LP-24500-01-00
2003 Yamaha Raptor 660 YFM660R
http://www.ronayers.com/browseparts.cfm?SearchString=5LP-24500-01-00&adv=5&kw...
NOTE... ( all Raptor 660 petcocks fit,... I included a specific model/year for internet ordering, and anal retentive counter salespeople...) (Raptor 350 petcocks won't fit)...
(also note,...the Raptor petcock clears the frame easily, and makes tank removal much less hassle)...
The Raptor is a direct fit replacement,... just remember to cap the vacuum tap on the carb...

That link no longer works, so im searching the web for the part. I am a bit hesitant to order this 8.00 petcock from amazon or any of the below. Has anyone recently ordered a petcock or have a reliable site that i can trust will send me the legit part?

Amazon link.... sketchy
https://www.amazon.com/Raptor-YFM660R-Petcock-Compatible-Ketofa/dp/B07F9MXJ3Z...

I found these two on the forum and may go with one of these..

I bought mine from Ron Ayers. If you have a Yamaha dealer near you they can usually have parts in about 4 days.

I bought my Raptor on Amazon :

It came in a few days. This might not be the cheapest source, but it is the genuine article...

Thank you all again for your patience, i truly appreciate it!

I read the manual and searched the forum, couldn't find specific sizes for these screws. Hoping i can go to Lowe's or something and find the right fits. I also looked at diagrams on parts stores. I found the seat screw but not the tool box ones.

Any idea where i can find the correct screws for the seat and these specific locations?

I'm pretty sure that the seat screws i have on my bike are not correct and it makes me nervous.

1.Seat screws on the back and side im pretty sure arent the correct ones.

2. Toolbox screw isn't the right one and i can pull the box off with my hand despite locking it with key

3. Two screws under the lock box.

Where do the forum members typically go for parts?

I was able to find my parts here!

Thanks again for your patience and information!  Grin

Versy, not trying to hijack your thread rather offer an option for your repertoire of parts.

For those that want a quick release, sort-of, and don't want to permanently drill out the threads why not get a couple of these little guys...of course at the right length and thread size. May have a propensity to wiggle loose after a lot of riding unless you use a good lock washer or rubber washer?

If I decide to get a couple and try them out I'll share my results.

2, It's not the screws fault, the hooks on the top of the box aren't very secure, try bending them down a little so they engage with the top a little better.

Also, you need 2 screws on that latch to secure it.

3. any screws will do, that one is stock as far as I know.

Many places offer the parts, few stock them.
So count on having to wait while they are pulled from a oem warehouse somewhere.

it would take me an hour to copy all the links I've found

ebay is another source

Everyone is going to charge you for shipping.
Make the most of it and order some filters and other consumables while you're at it.

Problem: Bike cut out and wouldnt turn over.

Solution: My battery was old and needed replacement. Also, my carberatour was dirty and when i cleaned it, i had gunk in the small jet. After cleaning the carb and installing it, the bike ran fine.

However, i beleive the petcock is causing it to have trouble getting fuel to the carb. When i started it after the clean, it did the same noise like it wanted to start but wasnt receiving fuel. After turning it to prime with choke out half as sugguested by a user, it started up.

Hope this helps others that had my issue.

I also did an oil change, will change air filter, petcock and put some seafoam or Marvel Mystery oil in the gas/oil so that the engine can get a good cleaning.

I am well on my was to restoration!

Thank you everyone for your help!

You could check for rust in the tank, some may hsve come loose and plugged the two filters, one on the petcock and the one that sits above the float valve seat  , in the float bowl of the carb.
