You could probably make a flat prefinished plate work.

It's steel ,why add the extra weight ? You could just have the stock pulley chromed .

Guessing at 8" diameter x .03" thick that's .9 lbs. outta steel.
could be thinner, could be aluminum.
one lb aint gonna break the bank.
I assume he wants to fill in the holes to.
Maybe you'll need one for the front too?

I stopped at the sheet metal shop on my way home and the guy said he can fab up a flat version of it for me easily. So I figured what the heck? Good excuse to meet a potentially helpful new resource.
He's going to use 1/8" aluminum.

Once I'm done rehabbing this bike I'm not riding it in the winter anymore.
I'm probably gonna pick up a little 250 dual sport this fall and that will become my winter bike.
