S40 Handlebar Options?
06/22/19 at 03:09:21

I have the drag bars now.  I think I’d like to change to something higher and angled 45 degrees.  I think people normally get ape hangers, set them low, and angle them in to achieve this type of result.  Any 1 inch bars out there that might work?

I use HD bars off a sportster , try to find the ones that are not knurled as the HD's have risers set much narrower.

Thanks.  I found some photos of those installed on an s40 in this thread.  I might consider those.  I will try and get a photo of how my friends handlebars are set up so you can see what I’m aiming for.  It’s a little bit different from the keystones.

A lot of people didn't seem to like them, but I liked the early Savage buckhorn handlebars. The grips angled down quite a bit. Twisting the throttle was a more of a forearm rotation rather than a wrist flex. Especially if you set the bars so the rise of the bars formed a straight line with the forks, which is where they looked best.

LSL tracker bars.  Or generic "super bar" by Emgo.

bobert_FSO I agree as I am one of the minority of savage riders that actually enjoy my 01 buckhorn bars. They give the bike a classic look without being too tall or too wide.

These are  clubman bars the "proper" way up to give me the appropriately controllable down/back angle. Seems like a serious handling improvement maybe JMHO.  2nd bike this way.
