None of that would be possible without the success of WWII. We can only speculate what the world would be today had Germany, Japan and their lessor partners defeated Britain, France, Russia and the USA.
Germany and Japan had no chance what so ever to be victorious, at what cost is certainly debatable.
I grew up in the rust belt and saw the economic carnage first hand, they got sold down the river and so did subsequent generations.
