People and politicians use whatever is within reach to mobe forward, even if its unethical. This is not a domain that's exclusive to Christianity.

You can be a devout Christian and still know, study and understand science.  You can be an effective politician and still be a Christian - but it's obvious what this politician is doing.  Like so many other republicans, he's using the fear of God to justify his point.

I myself have said that Obama is a far better Christian than trump could ever be - however, he never invoked Jesus as his advisor.

There's nothing wrong with being Christian or Muslim or whatever - but when a politician does something like this, it's got to be called out (just like Max Cleland using his "war injury")
